Serendipity brings Eastern and Western strings together, igniting new sounds.

At the inaugural Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX) in October 2024, the HKCO garnered much praise and
critical acclaim. That occasion was the impetus of this new collaboration and cultural dialogue with Poland’s
Narodowe Forum Muzyki (National Forum of Music), featuring the HKCO String Quintet, Eco-Gehu and Eco-Bass

Gehu Ensembles and the renowned Polish Cello Quartet.

The programme includes iconic works as well as new commissions by Hong Kong and Polish composers that
merge the Western cello with Chinese musical traditions. The concert will be recorded by Radio Television
Hong Kong and subsequently broadcast through the European Broadcasting Union. In July 2026, the HKCO
ensembles will travel to Poland, fostering artistic collaboration and taking a significant step towards “bringing
Chinese culture to the world.”
